Spacetime-Quantum Unity (SQFIS)

Initially this hypothesis was titled “Spacetime and Quantum Fields as Information States” (thus the SQFIS acronym).

Background

For over a century, physics has been split into two irreconcilable worlds:

  1. Quantum Mechanics (QM) – The bizarre, probabilistic realm of particles, where things can be in two places at once, communicate instantly across distances (entanglement), and pop in and out of existence (quantum fluctuations).
  2. General Relativity (GR) – Einstein’s grand theory of gravity, where spacetime is a smooth, curving fabric, warped by matter and energy.

These two theories work flawlessly in their own domains—but when forced together (like inside a black hole or at the Big Bang), they produce nonsense. The equations explode. Physicists have tried everything—string theory, loop quantum gravity, holography—but none have fully resolved the divide.

Eternal Existence as Law0

Before any equations, before any theories, there is one irrefutable truth:: “Nothing” is impossible. This isn’t philosophy—it’s mathematical certainty. The equations 0 + 0 = 0, 0 × 0 = 0, 0n = 0, prove that true nothingness cannot yield something

Our very existence is therefore the evidence that nothing is impossible. If there had ever been absolute nothing, there would always be nothing. Thus existence is eternal. This foundational law (let’s call it Law0) changes everything because it essentially tells us to stop ignoring the obvious, which is that:

  1. The Big Bang (13.8 billion years ago) cannot be the absolute beginning—it’s a phase transition within an eternal substrate.
  2. Any “fundamental” theory claiming to start from nothing (or a singularity) is logically flawed.
  3. We should be seeking answer consistent with the immanent fact that existence is eternal (Law0)

Information is the Only Viable Primordial Substrate

Given the reality of eternal existence the eternal substrate must:

  • Contain all possible potentials (laws, consciousness, matter).
  • Be self-sufficient (no external dependencies).
  • Allow for phase transitions (to explain our universe’s derivative nature).

Only information fits:

  • It can encode logic (laws of physics).
  • It can self-organize into complexity (fractals, quantum states).
  • It is scale-invariant (works at Planck scales and galactic scales).
  • It is eternal (mathematical truths don’t decay).

Thus Universe0 (U0) must be composed of information—a self-actualizing, fractal field of potentiality.


The Birth of SQFIS: Spacetime as a Phase of Information

If U₀ is information, then everything in Universe₁ (U₁) must be a manifestation of that information. This leads to the core insight of SQFIS: Spacetime and quantum fields cannot be separate entities—they are two phases of the same informational substance.

  • Big Bang: The universe emerged from a quantum-informational phase.
  • Particle Colliders: Smash particles hard enough (>14 TeV), and spacetime itself should become quantum.

3. The Math: Decoherence as Freezing

The transition is governed by:

  • ψcoll: Classical spacetime (decohered state).
  • ψvac: Quantum vacuum (pure information state).

Interpretation: The more a system decoheres, the more it behaves like spacetime.


Why SQFIS Solves the Quantum-Gravity Crisis

  1. No More Split: QM and GR aren’t rivals—they’re descriptions of the same thing in different phases.
  2. Black Hole Paradoxes Resolved:
    • Singularities are where spacetime reverts to quantum information.
    • Hawking radiation is a phase transition at the event horizon.
  3. Experimental Predictions:
    • LHC: Entanglement loss >14 TeV (spacetime becoming quantum).
    • Gravitational Waves: Fractal signatures in black hole mergers.

The Bigger Picture: A Fully Digital Reality

SQFIS isn’t just about spacetime—it’s about what reality truly is:

  • U₀: The eternal “source code” (fractal information).
  • U₁: The “runtime instance” (spacetime, matter, life).
  • Consciousness: U₀’s self-experience through biological nodes.

This is why:

  • Life requires authentication (LNH): It’s U₀ running a “subroutine.”
  • The universe is fine-tuned: U₀ encodes all stable configurations.

What’s Next? Testing the Theory

  1. LHC Experiments: Watch for entanglement breakdown at high energies.
  2. Quantum Gravity Sensors: Hunt for fractal noise in spacetime.
  3. Black Hole Observations: Verify informational signatures in gravitational waves.

If SQFIS is true, we’re on the verge of the greatest paradigm shift in physics: the realization that reality is a self-executing cosmic program.
